Chapter 5: Fun Day at Sea (July 17):

We had to set the clocks ahead another hour this evening so now we’re ten hours ahead of LA which also made for another short night. Mom and I went to the spa for a stone massage which was interesting to say the least. They apply oil & heated stones to various muscles on your body and massage you with smooth stones while others are resting on you. We both have red marks in unmentionable places from the hot stones, very relaxing though but probably won’t do this treatment again. We bought a few Russian decorated eggs at the ship store and are looking forward to the dolls being auditioned tomorrow evening after we leave port in Helsinki. Its formal night so I’m off to nap before the dress-up fun (yuck, nothing like being uncomfortable eating a huge dinner worried about spilling on your nicest attire). And a blog moment added after the fact for your pleasure; Carnival has improved the picture process to the point that they’re developed a few hours after taking (vs. a day later). Following dinner mom & I go to look at our “formal portrait” amongst the crowd and somebody “drops the daisy from HELL” in the middle of the crowd. Now you know me, I’d claim it if it were my prodigious blast but whoever gave birth to this was indeed one sick puppy…people were holding their noses in the check-out line…I hope the smell comes out of our clothes (my Hugo Boss suit is still weeping as you read this)!

Musical vibe for the Chapter: The Smiths: “Stretch Out and Wait”
Towel Fun: Monkey
